Abaixo: Terceira travessia ,1959, Abílio venceu o Canal e a prova da ILDSF tornando-se campeão mundial da federação. Abílio estava com tendinite e atravessou o Canal quase sem poder mexer a mão direita, fato que o observador essaltou no relatório ( Third Couto's crossing, in 1959. Couto beated the Channel and the race of Intenational Long Distance Swimming Federation in the same crossing. He was at that time the world champion of ILDSF. You can see that Couto had hurted your fingers and swam without moving you right arm. In the oficcial report the CSA's observer wrote this fact.
